Greetings!

Welcome to spring and summer! I, for one, am ready for some warmer weather and sunshine … if Mother Nature ever makes up her mind!

It has been a while since I sent out a newsletter, so there’s lots of news to share about the happenings at your favorite neighborhood coffee shop. In this issue, we’ll introduce our new baristas and talk about what we’ve been up to.

The next time you’re downtown, please stop by to say hello, and grab something satisfyingly delicious off our menu!

Meet the New Crew!

Earlier this year, we bid farewell to one of our longtime baristas, Spencer Keady. She moved to Scottsdale, Ariz., to work with a coffee roaster and to broaden her barista and coffee skills. She is doing great! Thanks to all the folks who stopped by in February to wish Spencer good luck at her new job. We’ll be sure to let you know when she’s back in town and on the bar!

We are thrilled to have a new team of baristas to craft your favorite coffees here at the shop. The morning crew features Josh along with the original 25 30 Espresso crew, Maureen, Molly, and Madison. In the afternoons Jennifer, Renee, Aryn, and Kylie take over the bar.

And for those who like a delicious pastry to snack on while enjoying your coffees, lattes, and frappes, we have great fresh baked goodies.  Always trying to find incredible treats for you to enjoy.  Come in often as things are changing all the time.

Beat the Heat!

Maureen’s Boston Barista Adventures

In April, Maureen attended the 25th Anniversary of the Specialty Coffee Association of America’s annual expo. This is *the* coffee event in America for those who enjoy gourmet coffee. “It was an exciting and educational time, and I came back with more knowledge and new coffee friends,” said Maureen.

The expo included the annual barista championship, which showcased the nation’s most talented baristas. The winner will represent America at the 2013 World Barista Championship, which will be held in Melbourne, Australia, May 22-26, 2013. You can watch the event via streaming video at http://new.livestream.com/wbc2013.

Attending events like the SCAA’s coffee expo is what keeps 25 30’s baristas at the top of their game. They bring home new skills and ideas to craft the perfect coffees for our customers.
