Are you enjoying summer?

Hopefully you are finding time to celebrate the best things of summer before it slips away…like the beach, kayaking or home improvement projects…haha.  One of my favorite things about summer is Iced Coffee!  Rich and creamy.

Delicious Iced Coffee. You know you want one.

Delicious Iced Coffee. You know you want one.

While you’re taking that well deserved break on the porch, I hope you’ll continue to celebrate summer with a delicious iced coffee too.  Of course we’ll be glad to serve you an iced coffee but if you want to make it at home here are a couple of great ways to enjoy it.

Making an iced coffee is simple, delicious and rewarding (helps to get those chores done).  There are many ways to make it and each offers something unique.  If I have time and plan ahead I’ll make what I call a double brew (2x the normal amount of coffee grounds to the normal amount of water).  I put the coffee and water in a pitcher, stir, and let it sit overnight in the refrigerator. The next morning, place a coffee filter over another pitcher and pour the coffee mixture through it.  You are left with a thick rich coffee elixir perfect for a little cream and sugar or a flavored syrup and some ice!

Counter Culture Coffee, Kilenso Mokonisa

If you would like something really special.  Grab a bag of our Counter Culture Coffee, Kilenso Mokonisa a wonderful Ethiopian coffee with flavor notes of blueberry and blackberries.  This is such a delicious coffee; no sugar or cream needed.  A light bodied coffee full of juicy flavor notes.  We brew this with 32 grams ground coffee to 450 grams of water (I do about 200 grams of ice in the carafe) then slowly drip the remaining 250 grams of hot water over the grounds, add a couple more ice cubes and you are set!
